Within just one year since Young Developers Hub began its physical operations in Lokoja, we’ve become an integral part of our community, earning the admiration of students, parents, and children alike. Our dedication to community service and tech education has not gone unnoticed.
During the NACOS (Nigerian Association of Computing Students) Award Night, I had the honor of speaking to computer students on a panel about how to get into tech and identify essential skills along side my tech bro Alhassan Joshua. It was a fantastic event with many important figures from the community and tech ecosystem in attendance. Various awards were given out to individuals for their immense contributions and support to the growth of the ecosystem.
To our surprise and delight, YOUDEVHUB was awarded Leading Tech Hub of the Year!
This recognition is a tremendous win for us, as it solidifies our position and encourages others to believe in our mission. The impact of community service and growth truly cannot be overemphasized.
Making the Second Half of 2024 Count: Why the 31-Day Tech Learning Challenge is Needed Now More Than Ever
As we step into the second half of 2024, it’s a perfect time to reflect on our accomplishments and set new goals for the months ahead. The start of a new half-year offers a unique opportunity to reassess, reenergize, and recommit to personal and professional growth. This is precisely why the 31-Day Tech Learning Challenge, hosted by YouDevHub, comes at a crucial moment. Here’s why this challenge is not just timely, but essential.
1. A Mid-Year Reboot
The first half of the year has been a whirlwind of activity, with many of us striving to achieve our goals amidst various challenges. The 31-Day Tech Learning Challenge offers a much-needed reboot—a chance to refocus our energies on skill development and personal growth. It’s a structured opportunity to turn the page and start fresh with clear, actionable goals.
2. Staying Competitive in a Rapidly Changing Tech Landscape
The tech industry is constantly evolving, and staying up-to-date with the latest skills and technologies is crucial for remaining competitive. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or a newcomer to the tech world, this challenge provides a structured path to learning new programming languages, tools, and techniques. It’s a proactive step towards ensuring your skillset remains relevant in an ever-changing job market.
3. Building a Habit of Continuous Learning
One of the greatest benefits of the 31-Day Tech Learning Challenge is the emphasis on daily learning and practice. By committing to a consistent learning routine, participants can build lasting habits that extend beyond the duration of the challenge. This continuous learning mindset is essential for long-term success and adaptability in the tech industry.
4. Community and Collaboration
Learning is often more effective and enjoyable when done in a supportive community. The challenge fosters a collaborative environment where participants can share their progress, ask questions, and provide encouragement to one another. This sense of community not only enhances the learning experience but also creates a network of like-minded individuals who can offer support and inspiration long after the challenge ends.
5. Maximizing Downtime and Turning Challenges into Opportunities
With many facing disruptions and uncertainties in their routines, such as nationwide strikes or other unforeseen events, it’s easy to feel unproductive or disengaged. The 31-Day Tech Learning Challenge transforms potential downtime into a productive period of growth. It turns challenges into opportunities, keeping young minds busy and focused on acquiring valuable skills that will benefit them in the long run.
6. Setting the Stage for Future Success
Participating in the challenge not only provides immediate learning benefits but also sets the stage for future success. By completing the challenge, participants gain confidence in their abilities, enhance their resumes with new skills, and open up new career opportunities. The knowledge and experience gained during these 31 days can serve as a springboard for further professional development and achievements.
7. Empowerment and Achievement
There’s a profound sense of accomplishment that comes from setting a goal, working towards it daily, and ultimately achieving it.
The 31-Day Tech Learning Challenge empowers participants to take control of their learning journey, providing a structured yet flexible framework to achieve their goals. The rewards and recognition at the end of the challenge serve as a testament to their hard work and dedication.

It serves a s a reminder for their hard work and their learn curves as it tends t get difficult at time during the learning process. During the last tech expo we had lots of fun activities which ranged from Quizes, to debates, to games like chess, guess-the-name, and lots more
it was exciting to see students gather from various tech filed s to come together to learn, grow and connect with one another and also receive awards while enjoying themselves
Some of the peope who attended the Tech Expos include;
Gift Matthew Iganya – GDSC Lead FULokoja
Blessed UsmanKing – FUL NACOS President
Favour Oshaniyi – YOUDEVHUB Campus Ambassador
Maryam Jimoh – NACOS Welfare
We learned about getting to know how to choose the right tech path
How to stay committed to our tech path and overcome challenges faced during the learning process
We had a very insightful debate on the topic: Computer science students do better in tech than non-computer science student
It was a very impactful and insightful day!
We all enjoyed every bit of it and the games were so much fun we didn’t want to stop!
